The Best Boat Trips in Alcudia

In Alcudia we are very lucky to have one of Europe’s top beaches. From the Port of Alcudia there are many boat trips leaving from the harbour and cruising around the area, taking in the rugged cliffs, dramatic coastline and secret coves.

Here I am going to take you, not in my shoes, but in a boat, on three of the most simple, yet exciting, boat trips in Alcudia…

Anacaona Catamaran

The Anacaona Catamaran is the largest sailing catamaran on the island of Mallorca and holds 150 passengers.

This big deluxe sailing catamaran sails out of Alcudia’s harbour every day in summer at 10am and is normally booked up days in advance.

This is one of the best boat trips in Alcudia and is certainly one of the most popular. It is excellent value for money and everyone always has a great time.

What’s included in the Anacaona Catamaran cruise?

You get the five hour sailing trip on the catamaran during which you leave Alcudia and head north normally. There are benches right the way around the edge of the catamaran and also nets for sunbathing, which look right through to the sea below.

Views generally include Aucanada lighthouse, Es Coll Baix Beach and Pollensa Bay but the crew are quite flexible and don’t really have a fixed route.

They put up the sail and see where the wind takes them.

There are stops here and there near various coves when the clients can jump off and swim in the refreshing Mediterranean and use the snorkel equipment and kayaks free of charge.

The catamaran normally anchors somewhere near Formentor for lunch, which is served buffet-style onboard. Lunch is included in the price and consists of chicken, salad, pasta and fruit and is served with sangria.

For Whom is the Anacaona Recommended?

The Anacaona Sailing Cat is more recommendable for couples than for families with children. It is a relaxing day out and although there are plenty of things going on, it is a luxurious cruise and is designed for lazing about.

Price

The price is 56€ for adults and half price for children under 12. This includes the five hour cruise, lunch with sangria. Kayaks and snorkels are free to use. Transport is included for people staying in certain areas of Alcudia, Playa de Muro and Can Picafort.

You can book your place on the Anacaona Catamaran with No Frills Excursions who offer discounted tickets. Simple.

Alcudia Speedboat

You might already know the Alcudia Speedboat as Crazy Shark, which, until this year, was its name, but Salvador, the owner, was sick of people demanding to see the sharks so he changed the name to avoid confusion!

The Alcudia Speedboat is one of the best boat trips in Alcudia: an adrenaline-filled one hour ride, it is quite different to anything else on offer in Alcudia.

The Alcudia Speedboat has space only for 16 passengers who will get the ride of their lives when they pound over the waves at high speed, zipping this way and that to get the best of the waves and spray.

What’s Included in the Alcudia Speedboat Adrenaline Ride?

You get to join the expert captain for a one-hour thrilling ride at high speed in the bay of Alcudia.

The speedboat goes every day, three times a day in summer.

Generally the speedboat heads past Aucanada lighthouse and towards Es Coll Baix cove where the waves are a little higher.

There is a 20 minute swim stop in this area where passengers can relax for a little while before climbing aboard again to dance over the waves on the speed boat.

Return transport is also included from your hotel to the port.

For whom is the Alcudia Speedboat recommended?

I would say it is recommended for young people: it is a great trip for groups of youths and teenagers.

Having said that, I am always surprised by the range of people who are attracted to this ride: last week I had a family with two small children of about 5 and 6 years old in my office who insisted on going on the speedboat. I would never normally recommend it for children so small but they came back and said that they had loved it.

And earlier in the season, there was a lady in her 60s, travelling alone and staying in Puerto Pollensa. She went on the speedboat twice during her holiday!

Price

The price is 35€ per person with no reductions for children. This price includes hotel pick up if needed, and the one-hour speedboat trip.

Submarine Vision Boat in Alcudia Bay

This is such an enjoyable two hours, I would recommend it to absolutely everyone.

You sail on the glass bottom boat from Alcudia’s harbour around Alcudia Bay, passing Aucanada and Es Coll Baix and then you go across the bay and sail parallel to the beach.

The boat normally anchors for 20 minutes close to Es Coll Baix and you can jump off and have a swim.

Included is a two hour boat ride aboard glass bottom boat in the Bay of Alcudia. The boat sails every day in summer, three times a day.

Weather permitting, a 20 minute swim stop is included too.

This trip is suitable for all ages; for those who like the sun and for those who don’t. Children don’t get bored, grannies don’t complain and everyone else in between has a great time too.

I have been on this boat cruise many times and I never get fed up of it.
