Covered in Mud in Nha Trang!

My visit to Nha Trang’s famous Thap Ba Hot Springs was very well timed. The previous day I had had my iPhone stolen and I needed a way to de-stress. And a mud bath in Nha Trang is the perfect way to unwind.

Just Toni and I went and we both thoroughly enjoyed it. We would both highly recommend it for couples – it was really good fun.

There were different options and we decided to book the package with everything. It was not cheap by Vietnam’s standards but at US$50 it was very good value for what was included.

  • Soak in a private mud bath for about 45 minutes
  • Soak in natural warm mineral water with herb for 30 minutes
  • Foot massage
  • Jacuzzi, mineral swimming pool and waterfall for unlimited time

Mud Bath Nha Trang

When we got there we changed and left our things in lockers and we were shown to our private tub, which was pumped full of warm mud before we climbed in.

We were in the mud bath for about 45 minutes and there were other couples in tubs nearby also up to the neck in warm mud. It had a very pleasant texture and was good fun and very relaxing. Getting the mud off in the shower was a bit tricky, especially where the bikini was concerned.

Mineral Bath Nha Trang

We were then shown to another private tub, this time in a more secluded area, and it was filled with warm water and what looked like huge teabags that released lovely aromas.

We stayed here for about half an hour enjoying the peace and quiet and then we were collected for our foot massage.

Jacuzzi Nha Trang

After that we had as long as we wanted in the Jacuzzi and then as long as we wanted in the heated outdoor pool with waterfall attached.

It was a great afternoon out and the spa is well worth a visit. I would definitely return. If you go, try to have a whole afternoon so you are not rushing…

How to find the mud bath in Nha Trang

I don’t have the opening times and days but I do remember that we were still in the heated swimming pool well after dark, which makes it even more magical. You can visit Thap Ba Hotspring website and chat with an online attendant for more up-to-date information.

Here is a map showing directions from Nha Trang, but any taxi driver will know how to get there anyway.
