Photo Tour of Gunung Kawi, Bali

One of the temples that I most enjoyed in Bali during the tour that we took with a Spanish-speaking guide was Gunung Kawi.

As you know, I am a little behind (slight understatement) with keeping you up to date about my travels in Bali and the second half of my backpacking trip around Indonesia.

However, back when I took the photos I did make an Instagram mini-series about Gunung Kawi Temple which, along with some other photos I took at the temple, I’m going to share with you here.

So without further ado… Step into my shoes and join me at Gunung Kawi, one of Indonesia’s most spectacular temples…

The above photo was taken at the entrance gate to Gunung Kawi Temple. Then we were off exploring…

We followed this green valley alongside the river until we reached the temple. The different candis of Gunung Kawi are pretty well spread out and really are carved into the rock. It was spectacular.

If you are planning to visit, please don’t be put off by the thought of the 270 steps though, as they are well spread out and barely noticeable.

The whole complex was extremely lush and green with stone bridges over the river and monuments and shrines popping up all over the unruly jungle.

The statues at Gunung Kawi were quite impressive too

I hope you have enjoyed this visual visit to Gunung Kawi Temple in Bali. I do hope you will join me for more of my adventures in Bali, such as the full day guided tour during which we saw this temple, a visit to the Monkey Forest, a visit to Ubud Market or the traditional Bali dances.

I would like to remind you that all the photos used on InMyShoesTravel.com are my own unless otherwise stated.
